A Critical Examination of the ProBioSlim Diet Products

Okay, a quick test for everyone reading this ProBioSlim review: what is one of the hottest diet supplement topics right now when it comes to active ingredients?

If you answered anything other than”probiotics,” then head to the back of the class! Yes, that’s right; probiotics are all the rage these days when it comes to dietary products that promise to help you lose weight painlessly and fast. And why shouldn’t they be? After all, the supplement industry has a long history of latching onto whichever health trends seem to be popular at any given moment, right?

Still, probiotics have proven effective in clearing up different bacterial infections and other ailments, so it only makes sense that some enterprising company would decide to apply their benefits to something like weight loss. Besides, this product also contains other ingredients that – when coupled with probiotics – just might be what the body needs to get past any weight loss plateaus and really start to shed weight fast. Let’s examine those ProBioSlim ingredients, shall we?

Green tea extract: Okay, we all know that green tea extract is something that has proven antioxidant properties. It can help to minimize cellular damage by fighting free radicals. We can find no evidence, however, to suggest that there are any studies documenting the ingredient’s effectiveness in helping anyone to lose weight.

Lactospore: These are probiotics with a specific organism known as bacillus coagulans – which comes from milk that has been properly fermented. There has long been some evidence suggesting that it can be effective at reducing bloating in IBS patients, and alleviating some abdominal pains. How that applies to losing weight is anybody’s guess…

Kiwi extract: Though the company offers a complicated explanation about how this extract is a “prebiotic,” spare yourself the reading. The simple fact is that their entire description is just a roundabout way of telling you that this ingredient is a form of fiber. Yes, fiber.

A probiotic supplement that contains Bacillus Coagulans. There is evidence that it can improve abdominal pain and bloating in patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
If you are suffering from digestive problems or antibiotic side effects these microorganisms can be dangerous.

ProbioSlim pills are geen and white pills. Their size is rather big. If you have some issues about the size of pills it may be difficult to swallow these. There is no information about opening them.

ProBioSlim side effects appear to involve things like jitteriness (perhaps related to the tea extract), and some issues with weakened immune systems. In addition, there are reports of bloating and gas – which is precisely the opposite of what one would expect to see when using probiotics that are designed to promote better intestinal health. Headaches and anxiety were also reported.

ProBioSlim reviews online have been anything but positive. There are consumer affairs sites detailing hundreds of complaints from customers who have been continually billed the recurring charges, even after they had canceled their product. Others complain that the product makes them jittery, and even hungrier than they were prior to taking it.

Now, it should be noted that the company does have fine print documenting the cancellation process, so there is an argument to make in support of the idea that these folks should have read their agreement. Still, why is it that all of these companies feel the need to put all of these finer points in fine print anyway? If they truly believed that their products could do everything that they claim, one would think that they would try to be more upfront about how their billing system works. If nothing else, this is bad form on the company’s part, and does nothing to inspire confidence.

None of that compares to these two factors, however:

  1. There is nothing from a scientific standpoint – and no documented studies to suggest otherwise – that indicates that this combination of ingredients can positively impact weight loss efforts. It is more worrisome that the exact composition of the listed ingredients is so carefully concealed, since more openness might enable such studies to be done. As it is, we have no reason to assume that the company’s claims are backed by anything other than wishful thinking.
  2. User reviews are universally negative. Most users who’ve bothered to comment report that the product is ineffective and that the customer service is either belligerent or simply unresponsive. That’s not something you typically see from a company when its products actually perform as advertised.

The bottom line in this instance seems pretty clear. There is no reason to believe that this product works as its makers claim, and every reason to believe that it does not. As such, it is impossible to recommend it for use as a weight loss aid.
